Three players from each team must be on the court at all times, including a minimum of one (1) female and one (1) male.
Team rosters may consist of a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of six (6) players.
Games will be played on a half court.
Games are to 22 points or 15 minutes, whichever comes first.
Each basket counts for 2 points (or 3 points if made from behind the 3 point line). Foul shots count for 1 point.
Make it, take it scoring will be in effect, until game point (22 points by either team), then the opposing team will get possession.
If a game reaches the15 minute time limit, the team that is ahead is declared the winner. If the game is tied, the teams will play a sudden death overtime to 4 points, with alternating possession (not make, take it).
Stalling will not be allowed. An unwritten 30-second clock is in effect at all times and may be enforced by the court official at his/her discretion. Failure to attempt a shot (and "draw iron") in 30 seconds, after being advised by the court official, will result in loss of possession.
The ball must be "taken back" on every change of possession. Failure to take it back will result in the loss of possession and the loss of any points resulting from that possession ("taken back" means both feet behind the three-point line or identified "take back" boundary).
The ball must be checked-in by an opposing player before it is put into play.
After all fouls or balls out-of-bounds, the ball must be taken out at the top of the court.
Jump balls go to the defense.
Three Point Shot: A shot made from outside a 20-foot circle or marked boundary will count as three points. Both of the shooter's feet must be clearly and completely behind said boundary to count as 3 points. The court official will have the final say if there is any question.
No dunking is allowed. No points awarded and loss of possession.
SPECIAL CO-ED RULE: Men are allowed to guard a woman and block a woman's shot or vice versa.
Substitutions are allowed during a dead ball or time-out. The clock does not stop for substitutions.
Each team is allowed one, 20-second time-out, which stops play, but the clock continues to run.
The sides and bottom of the backboard are in-bounds. The top of the backboard is out-of-bounds. The metal support pieces from the base unit to the backboard are out-of-bounds.
Brackets will be posted on the PCG website at least 2 weeks prior to the Event. Teams listed on "top" of bracket will get first possession.
You must be ready to play when your team is called to a court. Failure to show up in a reasonable amount of time will be considered a forfeit.
The team captain is expected to represent his/her team. Only the team captain can protest, in which case the team captain must immediately protest in writing on the official score sheet; once play resumes after a disagreement, the problem is considered a dead issue. The Corporate Games officials decision is final for the purpose of that game after reviewing the protest.
A player committing four (4) fouls will be "fouled out" of the game. A substitution for that player must be made or the team forfeits the game.
The court monitor will count and record all team fouls on the score sheet. After the seventh (7th) team foul, the player fouled whether or not in the act of shooting will be awarded two (2) free throws. For all fouls before the eighth (8th) team foul, the ball is taken back by the fouled team at the "top of the court" to resume play. After the free-throws, the player fouled retains possession whether or not the free-throws were successful.
If a player is fouled in the act of shooting and makes the basket, the basket counts and no free-throws will be awarded. The foul, however, will be recorded. If the basket is missed, two (2) free throws will be shot if on or after the 8th team foul.
If the court official rules a foul was flagrant, the player fouled will shoot one free throw and retain possession. Two flagrant fouls per team will result in the automatic forfeiture of the game.
Technical fouls can be assessed by the officials. The first technical foul is assessed as a personal foul against the player and a warning for disqualification of the team. The second technical foul on any team member will mean immediate disqualification from the tournament and a 10 point deduction from your Corporate Cup score.
Flagrant or continuous misconduct will result in the dismissal of the offending player. Gross misconduct (fighting, for example) by any player will result in suspension for life from Portland Corporate Games.
Each team must have like-colored or matching jerseys or shirts for each player.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the team members of the top 3 finishers (maximum 6 medals per team).
