| Team format – Open (Male, Female, or Co-ed) |
| Teams shall consist of 3 players ( teams may play with two players) |
| 1 guitar (teams may not use their own guitars) |
| Gaming console will be Nintendo Wii. |
| Exact version shall be announced 24 hours prior to event or earlier. |
| There will be 3 rounds total. Easy, Medium and Hard |
| One song per round, per player (in the event of two players, one player will have the opportunity to play twice per round). |
| Songs will be drawn out of a hat to ensure fairness |
| After three rounds all team members scores are added up. Highest point total wins (not most notes) |
| Any mishandling of equipment (throwing of guitar, hitting guitar or game console, breaking buttons or wammy bar of guitar, damage of tv, etc.) will result in elimination from tournament and paying for damages incurred. |
| No practice songs shall take place before tournament |
| In the event of a tie, a song shall be drawn at random from the expert level. The top guitar player from each team shall then compete in one round playoff to determine winner. Top score wins. |
| Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the team members of the top 3 finishers (maximum 4 medals per team). |
