Team rosters may consist of a minimum of two (2) and a maximum of four (4) players, including a minimum of one (1) female and one (1) male per team.
The winning team will be the first to win three (3) games (3 out of 5), each game to 11 points, win by two (2).
Each game is 2-on-2. A team may choose the players from those on the roster prior to the start of each "best of five match" (players may not substitute during any match that is already in progress); each team must have a male and female play each game.
You must be ready to play when your team is called. Failure to show up in a reasonable amount of time will be considered a forfeit.
Tables and balls will be provided, but players must provide their own racket. The racket must be made of wood and may be covered by rubber or roam. Sandpaper rackets are not allowed.
First service shall be decided by a coin flip prior to the beginning of each game. Winner of the flip can choose to receive or serve. The losing team has the option in all subsequent games.
Points are scored on every serve. Teams change service after every two (2) points. If the score becomes 10-10, the teams then alternate service after every point until one team has a two (2) point advantage.
Teams change ends after each game.
At the start of service, the server shall throw the ball up so it rises and falls freely before being struck. As the ball is falling the server will strike the ball so it first touches his/her court, then passes over the net and touches the opposite half court of the receiver's court, and then may touch any part of the table after that time.
The server shall first make a good service, the receiver shall then make a good return, the partner of the server shall then make a good return, the partner of the receiver shall then make a good return, and each player shall continue to alternate in that sequence.
Players are responsible for calling out the score before each point. Games are self-refereed. Each player must have knowledge of all rules and is responsible for making calls against the opposing team.
Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to the team members of the top 3 finishers (maximum 4 medals per team).
